The Label!

Hi everyone!
It's been many months since the final Daisy Days block was released, and I often wonder how far you've each come with stitching the eight blocks and piecing your quilt tops?
Today I was so blessed to receive a photo via email from Sandra, who has finished the quilt top and is ready to begin quilting!
Her email spurred me on to sketch up a quilt label that you can all use when you finish your quilts.
Here's the little colour pic I drew...

...because I've had no time yet to stitch it myself. I'd better get it traced and stitched soon, I think. LOL!

The label design is HERE for you to download.

Don't forget that you can still share photos of your blocks here on the Daisy Days blog, or in our Flickr group. I'd love to see them, and I'm sure that the hundreds of ladies stitching the quilt would love you to share them as well.

Here's the photo of Sandra's completed Daisy Days quilt top to inspire you...

Have the best of daisy-days everyone,

Block 8 - the final Daisy Days block to stitch!

Today is the release of the eighth block of my Daisy Days BOM!

"every daisy day"

And with this block, Daisy Days comes to completion, with the final quilt assembly instructions in the pattern as well...

The instant PDF download pattern is available today HERE in my Craftsy shop.
The paper pattern, posted free worldwide is HERE in my Etsy shop.

After a very busy year, I will finally have some time in January to quilt, bind and label my quilt. Can't wait to show you!

Please post your block photos here on the blog or HERE on our flickr page so we can all enjoy them! I love seeing how you make these blocks your very own with different colour and fabric choice.

Have an extra special daisy day, ok?

Finishing off Saturdaisy

It was lovely to see the arrival of sundaisy but I am not quite finished with Saturdaisy yet.
It has been my favourite block so far but it seems to have taken me longer than the others, no bad thing as I have so enjoyed doing it.
Happy stitching

*Sigh* Starting Over...

Hi All! Just a quick note to let everyone who has commented on my few posts that I haven't been posting because I have decided to back up and take another run at this project that I love so much. I have health issues and my stitching was suffering. I had to unpick my first block three times and of course after that I had to start with new fabric. However, this time I am using hanky linen, I have found it is easier to stitch on.
I do have both of my Grandsons flying in the first part of December and staying for Christmas if they can. One in the Air Force on the east coast, on in the Navy on the west coast, LOL. Theses are the two grandsons we raised so we are very excited about their upcoming visit and I'm sure very little sewing/stitching will be done before the start of the New Year after they get here. But I will be back and I'm staying with my fabric and thread choices.
In the meantime I am checking here and on the Flicker page often to follow all your lovely progress.
Thank you again and again Jenny for this stitch along/quilt along. You never cease to amaze me with your talents  and inspirations.
Hugs n Love to all and Happy Thanksgiving to all of those who are celebrating it next week....

Block 6 *saturdaisy* and a bears paw tutorial...

It's THAT day of the month!
The next block in our Daisy Days BOM is ready!

This month we're stitching *saturdaisy*, and I think this has got to be the most popular block in the quilt because it's the one I am asked about more than any other!

There was a time in my life when a Saturday morning at the book shop was my favourite of all pastimes!
My penchant was for old bookshops, with shelves from floor to ceiling filled with second hand vintage copies of all the classics. leather bound, gold embossed spines...oh, my heart would beat so fast!
I think you can see where my inspiration for designing this particular block came from.

Also in the pattern this month you'll need to piece four "Bears Paw" blocks. These blocks make up the four corners of the finished quilt. I made two sets of identical colours...

...and large print fabrics from the "Sew Cherry" range used throughout all the piecing.

Today, to make the tutorial clear, I am using fabrics much easier to identify with each step of the process. Actually, I love these new tutorial colours so this block will be used for something special!

Let's start with your fabric requirements for ONE 6 1/2" Bears Paw block (will be 6" when pieced in the quilt)...

Trace a pencil line from one corner diagonally across to the other on the back of your two fabric B, 2 7/8" squares, and lay them down on top of the two Fabric C squares of the same size...

Machine sew the squares together by sewing a 1/4" seam down both sides of the drawn line.
Use your rotary cutter to separate the squares into triangles by cutting along your traced line...

Press the blocks open to give you four half-square triangles.

Lay all the squares out to look like this...

Sew the three squares across the top together with a 1/4" seam, and the two side squares as well to give you the top and side borders for your Fabric A, 4 1/2" square...

Sew the side border to the Fabric A square, and then the top border across the top of the block.
Your "Bears Paw" block is complete!

All subscribers to the Daisy Days BOM have been emailed their patterns today.

Ready To Start Fridaisy

I have not been blogging much but I have been working on my Daisy Days project.  I am caught up and ready to start on Fridaisy. I love all of the embroidery designs.

I have had fun with the little blocks too.  Thanks again Jenny!
